FALL BREAK
The last 11 years we have traveled to Pineville, Kentucky to build wheelchair ramps for folks in need. Over 2 days we serve alongside our skilled "Crew Chiefs" to build ramps and relationships. It's amazing to see how in 2 days so much can be done for a community. Over the past 9 years, more than 60 ramps have been built in an around Pineville. Anywhere you drive around that area, chances are you will see a ramp Cross students have built.
SPRING BREAK
There has been a rich history of The Cross changing the way UT students do spring break. We have helped rebuild houses after hurricanes and natural disasters. In 2005, The Cross started a 7 year journey to help rebuild after Katrina. Hundreds of students participated in these trips each year. For a season of 5 years, The Cross served alongside a church in Moultrie, Georgia building ramps for the community there. In 2017, we joined the North American Mission Board in Johnsonville, South Carolina to re-roof houses after hurricane Matthew the previous year. In Spring of 2018, we went back to South Carolina to help rebuild homes after Irma ravaged Charleston in the Fall. We are excited to announce the opportunity to help rebuild homes in the Panama City Beach area for the 2019 Spring break trip! Summer Mission & Service
The Cross is excited to partner with churches and organizations to connect students to opportunities to serve over the summer break. In 2017, Cross students participated in short term missions to China and Uganda, while others served domestically in the US. We had students in Colorado as backpacking guides and others who participated in operations around the Knoxville community. In the summer of 2018, we want to encourage more students to serve their summer away, by awarding $2,000 in annual scholarships. Email crossgreekministry@gmail.com your application.
